The Second Romanian Conference on Space Applications - CRAS 2009, Bucharest, Palace of the Parliament, 8-9 September 2009

Bucharest, Romania - Aug 3, 2009 - Space science and technology involvement towards societal and economic applications continue the more and more relevant presence in the agendas of global, regional and national policy-makers. Due to the outstanding efficience of long-term duration space programmes, together with direct contributions in providing security for the citizens, space activities provide tools of stability for societies.

On-going political processes in Europe regarding space policy and space infrastructure development, together with the expansion of economic and societal applications are actively supported by Romania through the national policy in considering space as a priority for development and research. The community of national industrial and space applications actors is rapidly developing and a major immediate goal is the fully integration of Romania within the system of the European Space Agency.

The Second Romanian Conference on Space Applications - CRAS 2009, an initiative of the Romanian Parliament / the Sub-Committee for Space and co-organized by the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), is taking place on September 9-10, 2009, at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest, with the participation of members of the Parliament and Government, decision makers, stakeholders from public and private sectors, distinguished international guests.

The Conference aims to continue the framework of interaction between space professionals, industry, politicians and high-level decision makers in order to to identify and foster appropriate ways and means towards growing societal, political and economical benefits of space.
