The Cobham Avionics and Surveillance Division designs, manufactures, qualifies, certifies and supports a complete rangeof electronic products for airborne, marine, land and specialpurpose applications. The Division serves four principal markets: Avionics, Surveillance, SATCOM and France.

Included in the product base are fully certified Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) with complete cockpit communication/navigation and sensor capability, COSPAS/SARSAT certified marine, air and land Search and Rescue devices and state of the art law enforcement tracking, monitoring and surveillance equipment.

Cobham’s Defence Systems Division designs, develops and manufactures critical technology for network centric and intelligence operations, enabling information to be moved around and managed on the digital battlefield. The Division also supplies distinctive, high technology products for the commercial aerospace and civilian markets.

The Cobham Mission Systems Division is the world market leader for air-to-air refuelling, providing fourth generation ‘nose to tail’ solutions from the cockpit of the donor aircraft to the tail of the receiver platform. More than 1,000 systems have been delivered for buddy-buddy refuelling, tactical and strategic tanking for fixed wing aircraft and helicopters, with UAV development well advanced.

The Division also has a ‘wingtip to wingtip’ capability providing acomprehensive range of weapons carriage and release equipment including missile launchers, cryogenic cooling for missile seekers, pneumatic missile fin actuation and wing store carriers, bomb ejection, defensive aids, chaff and flare systems.

Cobham Mission Systems also specialises in life support and personal survival equipment systems including oxygen systems for aviators and astronauts, crew restraints, flotation gear, emergency beacons and crew and cargo release mechanisms.

Aviation Services

These qualities, combined with extensive knowledge, advanced specialist equipment and a powerful value for money ethos, enable Cobham to deliver aerospace training and operational solutions that meet the most demanding standards of leading military and civil customers around the world.The Cobham Aviation Services Division operates more than 150 fixed and rotary wing aircraft around the world. It operates the largest civil maritime surveillance contract in the world and trains all UK helicopter pilots for the Navy, Air Force and Army.

The Division provides modern battlespace air warfare training and flight inspection services for civil and military airports in the UK, Europe and beyond. Cobham also specialises in the conversion and support of a wide range of civil and military platforms including the Nimrod MR2, R1, Sentry E3-D fleets and the Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft fleet of A330 aircraft.
