Vectronix has its roots in the military survey activities of Wild Heerbrugg, became a part of Leica Geosystems, was spun off as Leica Vectronix in 2002, and shortened its name to Vectronix AG on 1 August 2003. Vectronix specializes in handheld laser rangefinders and night vision devices, compass and rangefinder modules, and day/night observation and geo-positioning systems.
