The Company was founded in 1948 to design ship-borne helicopters in the interests of the USSR Navy. Initially the Company's name was Experimental-Design Bureau (OKB), then it was Ukhtomsky Helicopter Plant and since 1992 - Joint Stock Company "KAMOV"
