As part of the MERKAVIM line, and as a response to the need and the experience in Israel, Merkavim has developed a line of Armored Buses. The newest bus in this line is the MARS DEFENDER Armored Bus. The MARS DEFENDER is a full size bus capable of safely transporting some 53 passengers. The Bus was developed to the specifications of the IDF and fully protects against threat levels of 7.62 mm ammunition, grenades and side blasts. Merkavim is the largest builder of bus bodies in Israel. Merkavim is dedicated to the development, design, Manufacture and servicing of passenger transportation. The company provides very highest level of technology, quality and comfort, meeting customer specifications and ensuring complete satisfaction. Merkavim has recently completed the technological process of planning and adapting its production line to manufacture a full range of bodies made exclusively from Stainless Steel. Merkavim constructs all types of buses.
