Beyond Military (MIL) Standard compliance, it’s important for mil/aero OEMs to consider “beefed up” Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) during the selection process. A beefed up PCB means the Electronic Manufacturing Service (EMS) provider tightens board tolerances beyond the OEM’s minimum engineering specifications. Such PCBs and their end products maintain high performance and optimum reliability, regardless of environmental, terrain, or temperature conditions.

Going above and beyond a mil/aero OEM’s circuit board tolerance to assure optimum reliability is founded on PCB design and manufacturing experience since no textbook examples exist from which to learn. Adding reliability is at PCB layout design, fabrication, and assembly. Each step gets an extra 5% to 20% reliability.
