Put experience into practise…

SPECTO Aviation has ample experience with the maintenance and lifespan extension of primary and secondary structural aircraft components.
SPECTO is mainly specialised in the preservation of radar-permeable composites such as airplane domes and other composite components with high-grade applications.

SPECTO has been providing company-internal support to its clients for several years already, in cooperation with a number of senior composite specialists in civil and military aviation. Since 2002, for instance, SPECTO supplies crucial expertise and capacity to maintain and modify the nose and aft radomes of the Royal Netherlands Navy’s fleet of P3COrion surveillance aircrafts.
As a result of this modification the performance of the radar system and the availability of the radomes has been improved significantly and its lifespan has been extended considerably.

In addition to carrying out modifications, I&D-level repairs are being carried out on components with heat-elements or special inlays, for instance for antennas.

Besides SPECTO produce one-offs and small series high quality radomes for radar antenna systems for vessel & aircraft traffic management systems, harbours, coastal surveillance and airports.

Quality:

In order to obtain recognition as a qualified partner, SPECTO has requested an EASA/Part-145 Airworthiness Approval Program from the Civil Aviation Authority.
The implementation of this quality system has already been started.

Company development:

SPECTO responds to the growing demand for expertise and capacity in the maintenance of composite products by expanding its activities.
To this end a new SPECTO composite facility has been realised in 2005 at Naval Air Station Valkenburg, home base of Royal Netherlands Navy’s fleet of P3C Orion surveillance aircrafts.
