Airways New Zealand Contracts COMSOFT for their Market Leading Aeronautical Message Handling Solution

Christchurch is about to join the triangle of communication centres ready for AMHS in Oceania.
Airways Corporation of New Zealand (ACNZ), the air navigation service provider (ANSP) for New Zealand has opted for COMSOFT's worldwide unrivalled AFTN/AMHS system AIDA-NG, thus joining the illustrious company of ATN backbone states Australia and Fiji, both highly satisfied COMSOFT AMHS customers in the Oceania region.
New Zealand's future aeronautical messaging solution will comprise AFTN, Extended AMHS, ATN Directory and email services over various network types such as TCP/IP, X.25 and the Internet. End users will benefit from the elaborate design of the highly convenient CADAS data terminals, providing data access to AMHS messages and other aeronautical information as well as automatic flight strip printing services.
In addition, New Zealand's flight safety will benefit from COMSOFT's mature contingency concept that allows Airways to guarantee continuation of aeronautical messaging services with minimum disruption of service, even in the event of a sudden loss of the main site. Airways Project Manager Bruce Jowett states with regard to the project "The close cooperation between Airways and COMSOFT, starting at the Critical Design Review, should ensure a successful implementation of the project."
This ambitious project is planned to be completed within a challengingly short period of six months which will be supported by COMSOFT's market-leading AMHS technology and long established experience with numerous fully operational AMHS implementations in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world.
In the near future, AMHS is expected to play a crucial role in aeronautical communications by having the capability to transmit data which cannot be conveyed via its text-oriented AFTN predecessor. In particular, AMHS can easily transmit XML or binary-coded data streams as processed by of modern flight safety applications.
